As such, it provides a foundation for exceptional play.

Written explicitly for serious students of the sport, the distinctiveness of this book lies in that it expresses a way of thinking about the sport that is structured, coherent, and applicable throughout the playing domain. Employing an extensive vocabulary approaching 200 elements, notions such as "shot categories", "shot type classes", and "hands" are defined and elaborated on for use by both coaches and players. ITTF-IPTTC Level 1 Coaching Manual

Title: ITTF-IPTTC Level 1 Coaching Manual

Author: Glen Tepper

The ITTF is proud to introduce the first official ITTF Level 1 Coaching Course Manual and Syllabus. Many countries have Coach Accreditation Courses in place which vary greatly in length and content. This manual is not meant to replace existing programs, but has taken influences from all of the world’s leading countries and combined them into a course that is aimed at countries that do not currently have a course in place.
This course and manual is aimed at coaches working in schools and at a beginner and junior level.
Every attempt has been made to make the manual and course “user friendly” with simplicity and a practical course the aim.
All sections of the course should where possible be done “on the tables” in a practical sense, so that coaches have a ‘feel” for the material and based on the saying, “To hear is to forget, to see is to remember, to do is to understand”.

Sections:

  • Generic Coaching Principles
  • Coaching Beginners and Schools Coaching
  • Techniques Beyond Basics
  • Introduction To Physical Training
  • Introduction to Sport Sciences
  • Tournament Organization and Rules
  • Evaluation
